•Happy New Year•

Hi Everyone!

Just thought I would write a little post to say happy new year to all of you beautiful people.

I’ve decided I’m going to make this year the year I work on my self, I’m going to throw myself in to new things and do more of what I love. I plan on working harder on my blog as it has become something I enjoy doing so much and spending more time with the people in my life who make me happy.

2017 will be the year I live by the motto ‘do more of what makes you happy’.

I hope everyone has a fab, healthy and happy 2017 x

•Christmas time, mistletoe and wine•

If there’s one time of the year I love, it’s Christmas. I love the cold weather, the atmosphere, how happy everyone is and obviously the presents are good too..

I love hearing about everyone’s Christmas traditions, its so exciting hearing about the different things that people do year in year out. So I thought I would share a few of the Christmas traditions we have in my house.

One thing we always do on Christmas eve is open one present, it’s always our new ‘Christmas eve pjamas’. This to me is so exciting, I literally get so excited over new pjamas because if I could I would spend every waking minute in them, work and everything! We all get cosy with Christmas films and music with our new pjamas on and its one of my favourite times throughout Christmas.

A kind of new Christmas tradition for me is going to Church on Christmas Eve, my boyfriends family are Catholic so it’s something they’ve always done and last year I went with them. I don’t follow any sort of religion so I was a little bit weary at first but it was actually lovely.

Leaving a mince pie and a bottle of beer out for Santa, please tell me every one does this? For as long as I can remember this has been one of our Christmas traditions, helping Santa along with the night shift he’s got ahead of him! My youngest sister is ten and my Mam and Dad still drink half the milk and have a bite of the mince pie as if Santa’s been!

Before we go to bed on Christmas eve we all hang our stocking up on the landing (yes I know I’m 22, is anyone ever to old at Christmas?). Everyone remembers that butterfly feeling you would get in your stomach when you wake up and have a squeeze of your stocking to check if Santa has been.

Christmas day is literally my favourite day of the year, every one is so happy. I spend Christmas day with my family for dinner and presents and then I spend the evening with my boyfriend’s family for a Christmas party (boxing day is usually a very hungover day)

I’d love to hear what traditions everyone else has at Christmas & I hope everyone has the best day x

Nip & Fab Teen Skin Pore Blaster Wash Review

Luckily I’ve never been one to suffer with bad skin, I’ve had the odd few spots now and again but nothing too major.. until this past year. Partly down to the way I’ve been eating (one to may takeaways) and partly because I haven’t been taking proper care of my skin.

It seemed to go from 0 to 100 overnight and all of a sudden I was covered in spots! I’ve tried soooo many different products and none seemed to work, in fact some of them made my skin even worse. Then I came across the ‘Nip and Fab Teen Skin Pore Blaster day and night wash’ in Superdrug, I’ve heard a lot about the brand but until now hadn’t actually tried anything. I decided to pick them up and give them a try – they were discounted too, I think I picked them both up for around £12, which is pretty good for a decent brand!

Since buying them around two months ago I’ve religiously used them every single morning and night (apart from the odd drunken sleep with my makeup on episode). I’m usually one of these people who buys something, uses it a couple of times then forgets about it.. but I am completely obsessed with this pair.

My skin has literally never been clearer, I started to see a difference after around two weeks of using the products and they’ve lasted me ages too, I’ve only just ran out which is pretty good going (100% repurchasing).

The only thing which I’ve noticed that I don’t like is that they’ve dried out my skin quite a bit, so I’ve had to make sure that I moisturise every morning and night to make up for the dryness but I’m happy to do this as long as my spots stay away!

Does anyone have any other recommendations, maybe a less drying option?

Kat Von D ‘Lock It’ makeup setting spray review

So, I kindly received the Kat Von D setting spray as a birthday present recently and I was sooo excited to try it, I’ve literally heard nothing but good reviews on it..

I’m a religious user of the urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and to be honest I didn’t think I would be able to find a more perfect combo than that with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, oh how I was wrong..

Firstly the packaging I love.. It’s in an aerosol type bottle rather than the usual plastic that most are packaged in, which makes it feel so much more luxurious and the spray itself comes out as more of a mist (some I’ve tried legit leave blobs of spray all over your face) – so I feel like this one covers your face a lot more evenly without using as much product.

The fact that the spray is more of a mist means it’s less heavy on your face and I’ve even been wearing it day to day for work, without feeling like I’ve got a full face of makeup on!

The description for the product says it should last up to 24 hours, I put this to the test when I went out for my birthday and got far too drunk.. my makeup looked absolutely flawless all night and I didn’t look shiny at all, which I do find with other setting sprays I’ve tried. The 24 hour timescale was put to the test by the fact I fell asleep with a full face of makeup on (thanks to the many cocktails I drank).. no lie, I woke up the next day and my makeup had barely budged!!

Overall I would give this a steady 10/10.. I do still love my All Nighter but I think that might be on the subs bench for a while!

(p.s, this retails for around £20)

Does anyone have any other ride or die setting sprays they would recommend??

•It feels good to be back•

Hi Strangers,

So.. it’s been 8 months.
Life has been hectic and I don’t feel like I’ve had a minute to myself, for that reason blogging has had to take a back step for the majority of the year.
It seems like so much has happened in the past 8 months, I’ve been to Vegas, Tenerife, drank too much, ate too much and started a college course in something that I love (beauty).
I’ve nearly finished my NVQ in business admin and I’m 2 months in to my Beauty NVQ as well as doing both of these, working full time and trying to have a life it feels like the time has just disappeared.
It’s crazy to think that in two weeks’ time my blog will be 1 year old! I can’t wait to get back in to writing about the things I love and I’m so pleased to say that blog posts will be back weekly from now on!

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder Review

Hi Guys!

I tried to get my hands on this product in the shade luminous for soooooo long but it was out of stock every single time! I eventually got my hands on it and I was super excited to try it out.

Oh. My. God. Is literally all I can say.

(If you don’t like a shimmery highlight then maybe stay away from this one)

I am completely amazed, the shimmer is gorgeous and it transforms any simple makeup look to the most glamorous! It’a perfect for nights out/dressy makeup looks and I’m honestly in love with it.

I’ve also been using it to highlight my collar bones before nights out or just to dust over to give a general shimmer everywhere.

One tip I would give is apply this with a light hand, you pick up so much product just from brushing so lightly!

I couldn’t imagine getting ready for a night out without using this now!

Have any of you guys used this? What do you think of it?

Two Products I couldn’t live without

Hi Guys!

I think we all have those products that we couldn’t live with out. I narrowed mine down to two by thinking which would make me die a little inside (or spend thousands bulk buying) if they were discontinued.

I didn’t even have to think about the first thing, which is of course my Estee Lauder foundation. It’s true that absence really does make the heart grow fonder, after I took a little break from using this foundation now that I’ve started using it again I’m completely obsessed again. I don’t know what I ever used before this and I can’t imagine every liking something as much! I’ve raved on about this foundation to everyone and I think I always will. It gives the perfect coverage and looks flawless all day long.

The next thing I couldn’t live without is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Fair. I use this religiously as part of my makeup routine every day. It covers up my under eye bags so well and makes me look like I’ve had a good 12 hours sleep when in reality I’ve had about 5. It’s so readily available and affordable so if you haven’t tried then please please do! You wont be disappointed.

I’d love to know what products you couldn’t live without?

Empties, Regrets and Reviews

Hi Guys!

I can’t be the only person who finds it so satisfying actually finishing all of a product can I?

I thought I would share with you a few things that I’ve used up and let you know what I thought of them!

One thing that I’m definitely going to repurchase is the Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in the colour 728 Honey Beige, its one of my all time favourite drug store lipsticks, it’s the perfects beige/nude shade and I got so many compliments on it when I was wearing it!

I purchased Nars Sheerglow after hearing everyone rave on about it and I was expecting it to be amazing ( I got it in the shade Deauville). To be honest I was completely dissapointed, I did’t like it at all. It oxadises a lot so the colour match was perfect to start with but got more and more orange throughout the day and it went completely patchy on my skin. I defintely wont be repurchasing this product any time soon.

Collection Lasting Perfection Cincealer in the shade Fair. I can’t rave enough about this product, its one of those things that I always make sure I have two of incase one runs out. I use it to lighten my under eyes and honestly it makes so much difference and leaves my skin looking flawless. If you haven’t tried this I would 100% reccommend it (and its super affordable)

Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl Mascara, I have a lot hate relationship with mascara.. My eyelashes are so short and I generally wear fake lashes because I don’t think mascara makes a great deal of difference for me. That was until I found this one, I’m totally in love with it.. it really does give my lashes so much volume and actually makes me look like I have lashes without having to wear false ones!

Versace Eros Perfume, I got this as a gift off my boyfriend and I’ve used it every single day since I recieved it. This isn’t usually the type of scent I would reach for but I’m so pleased I got it, it smells gorgeous!

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer, this product has honestly lasted me so long probably well over six months! I’m not usually in to these types of concealers but I absolutely love this one! Both the blemish cover side and the under eye brightner are fab. It covers up any imperfections I have all day long! Defintely something I’ll be repurchasing.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation, for days when I’m not doing much and just want a little bif of makeup on (most days when I’m at work) I always reach for this foundation. It’s medium/buildable coverage and leaves my skin looking so flawless but not cakey! I’ve already re purchased this and I would defintely reccommend it!

I’d love to know if there’s any products you guys would reccommend?

Yurily Oval Foundation Brush Review

Hi Guys!

Since the Oval Brush craze started I’ve been desperate to try them out but I couldn’t justify paying the prices of the higher end brushes when I wasn’t 100% sure whether I would like them of not.

I was shopping recently and came across this brush, I think it was around £5.99 and I thought I would pick it up and give it a try.

I used it to apply Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and to be honest I wasn’t amazed, don’t get me wrong I didn’t completely hate it but I didnt particularly love it either.

I found that it kind of dragged my foundation around my face rather than blending it in to my skin it just sat there.

If I had to choose between grabbing for this or my beauty blender the beauty blender would win hands down. I’m not going to rule it out completely before I’ve tried it with a couple of different foundations.

The more high end brushes might be a million times better but I’m just so pleased that I tried this cheaper version out first before wasting my money!

Have any of you guys tried the oval face brushes and what did you think of them?
